- You will need a clear area that is suitable for water and a bucket and in some case a hose.
- A wash bay is ideal or even have the saddle hanging on a fence rail so that the dirt can be washed away
- As per the photo you can see how this saddle went for a dip in a mud bath, so when cleaning it is important to take your time and gently take the dirt or mud off of your saddle.
- A soft brush or cloth and a bucket of water is what you will need for the cleaning.
- It is important that you clean all over the saddle including the underneath side as well.
- Once all the dirt is removed, it is important that you let the saddle sit in a place that the wind can get to it and it is protected from the sun. So under a tree or verandah is perfect.
- As the saddle is drying check it a few times and even wipe over with a dry towel.
- It is important that the saddle is entirely dry before putting it away or riding in it again.
- For the longevity of your synthetic saddle, it is important that you clean your saddle every now and then. Just use water and a cloth or brush, DO NOT use detergent as this will make your saddle squeak.
Have fun and happy riding from the team at Bonnetts Saddleworld !
